It is 2:44pm in the afternoon and I just read Janna's recent entry on her Leather Binding Blog. In response to her blog, I am journaling from the perspective of a parent who is staying home while her daughter studies abroad for five weeks in Great Britain. Janna opened up the futon on the porch to use for organizing for the trip. The house is clean and we've had lunch. The dishwasher is chugging along with a complaining noise that warrants a service call scheduled for Thursday. Our older two adult children are young men and have traveled outside of Texas solo, so we've had the experience of letting go. Even so, I don't know how it will feel to have our only daughter to fly across the Atlantic.
