Rhythm

I am adjusting to Janna being overseas made much easier by excellent communication on Janna's part. She blogs, emails, facebooks, and posts photos on flickr. She even called briefly to give me her emergency phone number. Thank you Janna for helping me be at ease about you being far away from home. You are so thoughtful!

I had sympathy jet lag and was bone tired for awhile, but I'm getting my energy back. It is funny to feel so small when your child goes out into the world when it is everything that Tim and I dreamed for each of the kids. People say things like "But she's with a group from Baylor," "she's smart," "she'll make good choices," or "she'll be fine."

I know that all of those things, but it takes a little getting used to the fact. Each time one of our kids did something big or major it took some time to adjust. At first I feel like I am learning to ice skate and the ground is giving way. After awhile it is exciting and feels more normal.

So now that Tim and I are adjusted somewhat to Janna being overseas, Zane staying in Houston and Quinn and Erica living in Austin, I am enjoying the rhythm of the kids coming and going, calling and chatting in between peaceful days. I am finding that there is time to do some things that I have always wanted to do like have friends over for tea. Today I am looking forward to having over Sarah for tea.
